It looks like Fargo's run of unseasonably temperate weather has come to a screeching halt:

IN THE FARGO [AREA]...THE WIND IN COMBINATION WITH BLOWING SNOW...WILL CREATE LIFE THREATENING CONDITIONS WITH VISIBILITIES NEAR ZERO...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN COUNTRY THIS MORNING.
INTERSTATE 29 FROM FARGO SOUTH TO THE SOUTH DAKOTA BORDER REMAINS CLOSED. IN ADDITION...INTERSTATE 94 FROM JAMESTOWN NORTH DAKOTA THROUGH FARGO NORTH DAKOTA TO FERGUS FALLS MINNESOTA REMAINS CLOSED...AND HIGHWAY 10 FROM FARGO NORTH DAKOTA TO DETROIT LAKES MINNESOTA IS ALSO CLOSED DUE TO ZERO VISIBILITY IN OPEN AREAS.
THE LATEST SNOWFALL REPORTS INDICATE THAT 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW HAS FALLEN...WITH SNOW DRIFTS UP TO FIVE FEET HIGH IN SOME LOCATIONS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. VENTURING OUTDOORS WILL BE LIFE THREATENING.
NUMEROUS POWER OUTAGES HAVE BEEN REPORTED ACROSS THE REGION. TAKE PROPER PRECAUTIONS IF POWER DOES FAIL IN YOUR AREA.
THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL SLOWLY IMPROVE THIS MORNING AS THE SNOWFALL DISSIPATES AND THE WIND SUBSIDES.
